What this site is
MedigapWindow.com is an information hub for U.S. Medicare beneficiaries. It explains federal Medicare Supplement (“Medigap”) rules under 42 U.S.C. § 1395ss, computes the dates of your federal 6-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period from your inputs, and surfaces state-specific Medigap protections.
It is not government-affiliated.It is not a Medicare broker. It is not affiliated with Medicare, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Social Security Administration, or any other government agency.
Informational only
All content on this site is for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not medical advice, legal advice, financial advice, insurance brokerage advice, or any other professional advice. For your specific situation, contact your state SHIP counselor (free, federally-funded benefits counseling) or a licensed Medicare insurance broker.
Compensated broker referral path (v1 placeholder)
v1 of this site does not route any compensated traffic to Medicare brokers.A compensated Medicare-broker referral path will be added in a future v1.1 release after our editorial reviewer signs off on the disclosure copy against the CMS Medicare Communications and Marketing Guidelines (42 CFR § 422.2260+) Third-Party Marketing Organization (TPMO) disclosure rules. Until then, no compensated routing occurs anywhere on this site — the broker-referral surface ships in a placeholder mode that announces the path is coming and points you to free SHIP counseling and medicare.gov for the comparison itself.
If a v1.1 compensated path is enabled in the future, every broker referral surface will display the verbatim CMS-published TPMO disclosure language, including (a) the disclosed referral fee, (b) the explicit statement that the agent may sell only specific Medicare Supplement plans available in their portfolio, (c) the explicit statement that the site is not a Medicare broker, not a government agency, and not affiliated with Medicare, and (d) the explicit referral to medicare.gov and your state SHIP counselor for the full comparison. We have committed to never enable that path without our editorial reviewer’s sign-off on file. See methodology →
OEP-decoder limitations
The federal Medigap OEP decoder is deterministic from your inputs and follows the federal rule at 42 U.S.C. § 1395ss. It computes your specific 6-month window from your DOB and Part B effective date. It does not account for every possible nuance — for example, the under-65 SSDI / ESRD eligibility paths, the Medicare-as-secondary-payer rules, or unusual coverage transitions. For your specific situation, contact your state SHIP counselor.
We do not collect or log your decoder inputs. See privacy policy →
